McDonalds Poster 2

After staring at the screen for about 30 minutes i decided that i didn't like the kerning on the last word (meal) i kept reading through the text and decided to make it plural so i added the 'S' which also made the kerning more legiable and seemed to make the text work in a box.

McDonalds Poster

Originally i had my type saying 'F**k, S**t, C**T. However once i changed the colour pallet and had a play around adding the slogan from mcdonalds (i'm lovin' it) i decided it was time to make the text relate more directly to the piece. I researched into what went into the meals at mcdonalds and read some interesting facts about the fat intake in happy meals - and here is the final resolution.

Arbormann (Initial Ideas)

Here i have some of the design sheets which shows my initial ideas. I wanted to get a load of ideas good and bad out of my head and onto paper. I feel this helped very much in terms of being able to develop on my concpets.
This excercise really helped me come up with ideas on things which even include the print finish of the business card. Finishes that include spot varnish, matt, gloss, embossed and even laser cutting were thought of.

Next job is to import some of the proposed ideas into illustrator and start on further development which could become very broad and even go in a new direction.

OUGD301 Briefs

These are 4 of my selected briefs which I will initially be starting next week. I plan on starting with the brief immediately below. Arbormann is a live brief for a client based on the Isle of Man.

  • Arbormann is an upcoming tree surgery business - and requires and up to date, clean and uniquely designed business card to gain more work.
  • Ph@! is also an Isle of Man based company. Ph@! requires a new look. The re-brand is to attract new followers and fans to attend large music events island wide. To run alongside the re-brand there will be a vast amount of promotional material including leaflets, publications, t-shirts etc.
  • Lost Boarders is a new skating brand to be released before christmas this year. The first requirement will be to produce an identity for the brand. From this point I will be developing an array of different media to promote the brand and its products. (products to include skateboard decks, clothing etc)
  • Little Designs is a small brand which creates handmade interior products. As my client is also a designer - all that is required is a stationary set: - to include business cards, complimet slips and letterheads. However the brand does require an identity which i will also produce to run across all products and packaging created.
