I Am President (Logo) Initial Ideas

So first things first - get some initial ideas down on paper for the new I.A.P logo. Below are some of the design sheets i produced on my first day fully on this brief. I feel this was a useful excercise and helped free my mind of some good and bad concepts.
The purpose of this excercise was to create some concepts which may not have been possible to achieve soley using illustrator.
I wanted to experiment with typography a fair bit - so i used some of my skills to hand render some new typefaces and further experimented with the placement/layout of letterforms.

I feel this was a valuable excercise. And i have no doubt that i will be using the old pencil and paper for more development to achieve a final resolution.

I Am President (Finals)

These are the final series of images i sent to my client. I sent them all the shots taken on the day (146) then sent my colourenhanced finals as my recomendation.
The feedback so far is all possitive. They have forwarded this series to their web-page builder - who I have contacted today and am now awaiting a reply from.
So below are my final series of 13 images, which i sent my client. Im very pleased them all - i feel the colours really are vibrant and eye-catching. I feel these shots really do capture the personality and image 'I Am President' represent.

As i said earlier im really pleased with the final series. I worked with the compositions and layouts of the images - before importing them into photoshop to minipulate the colours in the photographs.
The client liked the final result as do I. Next job on the list is to re-design the existing logo to a more upto date version.

I Am President (Photoshoot)

Photoshoot - So here is a selection of some of the shots i took during the shoot. In total i took 132 photographs however the majoirty of the shots were experimentation for when i changed lenses or when the light was limited. I am pleased with how the shoot went however there is still more work to be done:

  • Edit a selection of imgaes
  • Re-create a logo
  • Album artwork and packaging

I Am President (Brief)

I have been lucky enough to get myself yet another live brief. This time the client is in the area which i hold most interest - Music.
I Am President is an upcoming manx band. The genre of music they cater for is blues/rock. With the band securing a 6 month tour around the UK, they have been long overdue a re-branded logo along with promotional material and finally an album.

I have been set the task to create a new identity - which will run alongside album artwork and layouts which will be printed upon the clients wishes. Im extremely pleased with this brief and oppurtunity and cannot wait to get started.

I Am President (first meeting)

I Am President is an upcoming band from the Isle of Man who have just undertaken a 6 month tour around the UK. They came to me with a new brief which I would be able to put my design strenghts to the test.
Upon meeting the band - i was asked to:

  • Perform a photoshoot
  • Re-create a new logo
  • Create album artwork (including layouts and type)

The logo above is the existing identity for I Am President. I feel it does not give the rite personality to the band. When i look at this logo - i feel it looks cheap and has a lack of colour and dimension.
When i re-design the logo - i have been given some restrictions which include the colour pallet. The band want red and blue to be included in the majority of the designs - however they are more than happy for me to experiment with layout and colours.

Arbormann (Clothing)

Okay so it was time to put the logo across different medias (including clothing) Since safety is a big part of this industry i thought it would be good for Arbormann to show their professional finish not only with the business cards but also with what they wear.
I turned the logo into a smart object and imported it into photoshop. Here i tinkered with the layout of the design - I had to get rid of the logo which was already on the helmet (not hard)
I feel the Arbormann logo works well on the helmet. I think I will get these printed on clear stickers so they can be placed straight on the helmets.

Arbormann 11 (Final)

Okay so this is the final logo and business card. I had a bit of a stressful point during the brief where my client informed me of some sort of misunderstanding to the company name. Long story short - I have searched previously to see if the name already exists (which it does not) so I have copyrighted the brand name to make it exclusive for my client. I have looked into legal terms and im covered because I have produced and catalogued all the artwork for the development of the logo.
Im very pleased with the final outcome. I feel i have worked the colour pallet well and that the final prints will be very proffessional and printed at a high standard. The front of the card will be a gloss finish where as the reverse side will be matt with spot varnish over all the type.

Personal Work (Possible Brief)

Couldn't sleep last night - so i randomly started producing a poster series.
The tone of voice is obviously humorous (dirty humour) while the audience is male from the ages of 16 - 30 i would think.
Im actually very pleased with this series - they make me laugh and its a bit of fun. Might screen-print these next week when i have some spare time. Happy days

The Loft (Day Brief)

We were given a day-brief today. Well not even a day (around 1 hour) we were asked to produce an advertising campain using flyers to promote 'The Loft' to businesses that wish to hire out the venue for staff parties and promotional events themselves.
Althought The Loft is also a night club at weekends, the main purpose of the venue is to attract corporate companies to hold their functions in The Loft.

I found this brief a bit unusual. I tried to get some good ideas out as quick as i could, however i actually struggled with the type on these pieces.
I have decided i do not wish to persue work with this client. I wish to become more confident with short briefs (possibly create a few of my own) before i get 'real' work like this.
