Initial Ideas 2

Going back to my 6 chosen sans-serif fonts to develop from - i decided one which i really liked was 'Sementary' and it was time to do some quick sketch experimenting.

Once again i decided to play with the positive and negative space of the text. This lead me to start filling in some of the counters of each letterform. When i changed the layout of the text - i found that it didn't read as it should and that it had no relation to the name or message.
I will be taking two design elements from these experiments -
  • Filling in counters and a thick stroke outline can make an eye-catching logo
  • Placing other letterforms inside counters

Below: Taking a break from the standard sans-serif fonts i decided to have a quick experiment with one of the decorative typefaces. Below i have experimented very briefly with layout, colour, and tones. However this typeface is seen around advertisements and logos for a different music genre - Drum and Bass. This is why i felt no more development was needed.
